Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster County features seven miles of Rappahannock riverfront as well as diverse tidal and non-tidal wetlands, lowland marshes, tidal coves and upland forests. 

Among possible sightings are diving ducks (buffleheads, hooded, red-breasted and common mergansers), loons, geese, Tundra Swans, double crested cormorants, bald eagles, great blue herons, belted king fishers, Eastern blue birds, and gulls.
