Bird Walk at Kendale farm

There was a Northern Neck Audubon bird walk on Monday, November 13, between 9:00 am and 1 pm at Kendale Farm in Essex County.  It was led by Jeff Wright and the Wellfords.  This is a beautiful farm with meadows, fields, woods, salt and fresh water marshes with frontage on Occupacia Creek and the Rappahannock River directly opposite Fones Cliffs.

There were a total of 14 people who traveled the farm by car and foot over 4.5 miles in 4 hours. Sightings include American Black Duck,  American Crow,  American Robin,  Bald Eagle,  Belted Kingfisher,  Blue Jay,  Brown Thrasher, Canada Goose,  Carolina Chickadee,  Carolina Wren,  Dark-eyed Junco,  Eastern Bluebird,  Eastern Towhee,  hawk sp., Horned Grebe,  Killdeer,  Mallard,  Mourning Dove,  Northern Cardinal,  Northern Flicker,  Pileated Woodpecker,  Red-bellied Woodpecker,  Red-tailed Hawk,  Ring-necked Duck,  Ruddy Duck,  Song Sparrow,  Tufted Titmouse,  Tundra Swan, Turkey Vulture,  White-throated Sparrow,  Yellow-bellied Sapsucker,  and Yellow-rumped Warbler.
